Vineyards are natural pathways that bring lifeblood to our Franciacorta. The interpretation that each plot gives to the vine is unique and is inextricably linked to the micro-climate that is generated and the composition of the soil. The Morainic amphitheatre and the climate generated by Lake Iseo help the chorus of this interpretation, giving the grapes a decisive and unique personality. Quadra’s vineyards extend over 20 hectares well distributed in the central/west part of Franciacorta, from north to south. Plantings began in the 1990s in the Marzaghette di Adro locality and in the early 2000s another 5 very important sites arrived, ranging from Cologne (the winery’s headquarters) to Provaglio d’Iseo, Adro, Erbusco and Corte Franca. The main vine is certainly the aristocratic Chardonnay which occupies 60%, the Pinot Nero destined for the hilly parcels on morainic deposits occupies 20%. With the enhancement of Pinot Bianco Quadra has increased this to the important percentage of 20% by identifying three strongly complementary environments. The last added vine, Erbamat, was placed in the new experimental vineyard above the new winery. The winery team is responsible for 98% of the work in the field, following the rhythm of the seasons and being able to recognise and decipher the qualities linked to the vintage in the various plots.
